Experiencing Happiness

I’m excited to say that I’ve been experiencing a new level of happiness recently! Things are finally coming along with chronic pain and overall well-being. I started noticing positive changes after I wrote my last blog. Writing and connecting so many dots regarding past experiences felt incredible.

I recently found a new acupuncturist, and she is miraculous! She uses a Japanese style of acupuncture, and I have seen drastic changes in daily pain levels. I also found a local massage therapist, and she’s also working with me on stretches. It’s really fucking nice not to be writhing in pain and not waking up nauseous in the morning from some smack-you-across-the-face pain.

I have been slowly increasing my exercise to include lots more nature TV and working more on my stretching, posture, and breath work. I’m enjoying all the extra sun that comes with Spring slowly showing up here in Homer. It was a lovely day today, so I opted to take the fat tire down to the beach, rode for a bit, and then did much walking to get past the rocks and finally found a secluded spot to set up for a couple of hours of watching waves, eating some snacks, and watching numerous Bald Eagles out in search of their next meal.

My secluded spot today

After a couple of hours in the sun and with the falling tide, I was able to grab some hard-packed sand and enjoy a chill ride back. I had heard Orcas were spotted from the Homer Spit yesterday and was hoping to see them come by but no luck.

While I didn’t get to see Orcas today, I did appreciate seeing some waterfalls coming down the various gulches from the snowmelt. I kept hearing all the rattling and saw how large volumes of rock were also flowing! I’m realizing how starved I’ve been for opportunities of just silence from human noises and only hearing nature.

My mini adventure along the Homer cliffs near Bishop’s Beach.

I have a lot more bouncing around in the noggin however, it’s not coming out in words just yet. Hopefully, in a few more days I’ll identify it.

Until then, thanks for walking this path with me.
