Kilted Adventures is the realization of a lifetime dream. After decades of diving — starting as a PADI Divemaster in 1989 — Joel always wanted to build his own fill station. He spent a full year developing it privately, dialing in every detail to the exact specifications he wanted. The result is a lab-tested fill station comparable to many professional dive stores. Once it was right, the next step was obvious: bring it to the public.

Alaska has a small but passionate diving community spread across a vast state. Getting a tank filled often means driving hours — or not diving at all. Joel built Kilted Adventures to change that, making quality gas fills easier to access across the Kenai Peninsula and beyond with the only mobile fill service in the region.

As a Veteran with over 30 years of service, Joel spent a career training soldiers and ensuring that set and setting were always right before anyone stepped into a high-stakes environment. That same philosophy drives every dive trip, every fill, and every interaction at Kilted Adventures.

The vast majority of certified divers never get back in the water after their initial certification. Joel is on a mission to change that — working one-on-one with lapsed divers to rebuild their confidence, refresh their skills, and get them back to enjoying the sport they trained for.

Over 70% of the earth is covered by water. Alaska's share of it is teeming with marine life unlike anywhere else on the planet. Joel's goal is simple: get more people in the water and experiencing it.
